Hello for 2024,

It’s hard to believe we are already into February.

There are a few exciting changes happening at Twizel Medical Centre in the next coming months.

NP Gemma Hutton and Dr George Giddings will be leaving us for a short while as they both are expecting in February / March. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to them both and wish them and their families all the best for the new arrivals.

We were very lucky last year to have Nurse Ange Watkins with us filling in those much-needed nursing gaps on the roster. Ange and her whanau (family) have now left Twizel to settle in Blenheim. A huge thanks from TMC and we wish her and her whanau the very best.

With Gemma and George leaving we are very excited to welcome back Dr Peter Vujcich who most of you will know and Dr Arwen Bakker, who comes to us from Westport, having completed her Fellowship to the College of General Practice in 2022, originally training at the University of Otago. Late February and April will also see the return of our favourite Canadian, Dr Takla Gardey. All three GP’s will be a great addition to the TMC team.

We would like to welcome Gina Skelton to the team in an administration role. Gina comes with a wide range of skills which will be beneficial to us and the community. We are so excited to have Gina join our team. Please join us in welcoming Gina. We wish Yawei and Barbara all the best with their future adventures. You will see Yawei in administration as she will cover from time to time.
